Tapping Into God's Wisdom For Business Success

In last week’s blog post, we discussed the necessity of building a business with a foundation based on God’s principles.

Now before we get too deep into this week’s post, I’d like you to take a minute and picture an actual concrete building foundation.

Although the concrete will eventually harden, reinforcement is still needed in order to increase the foundations overall strength.

In a physical building’s foundation, this reinforcement is called rebar.

However, when you’re talking about building your business foundation on Godly principles, one reinforcement you will need is called wisdom.

So today we’re going to continue our discussion, as we uncover the #1 element of reinforcement you’ll definitely want to include when laying the foundation of your business—WISDOM!

Why Wisdom?

Well quite frankly, if you want to be successful in anything you are building—you’ll need to heavily rely on God’s wisdom to guide you.

So let’s dig into this word—wisdom ......

The Dictionary Says.....

Webster’s Dictionary defines wisdom as:

the exercise of sound judgment either in.......

a. avoiding evils or

b. attempting good

The Bible Says.....

In Proverbs 4:6&7, the bible instructs us: “not to forsake wisdom, and wisdom will protect you; love wisdom, and wisdom will watch over you”.

The bible further lets us know the importance of wisdom in our decision making – with the example of an ancient ruler—King Solomon.

King Solomon is most known for his God-given gift of wisdom, which he used to build a kingdom that was both powerful and an extremely profitable business empire.

Even if you do not know the whole story, I’m pretty sure most of us have at least heard a version of this bible story, which basically retells how God gave Solomon wisdom, wealth & honor.

While this is definitely true—I’m not sure if the whole picture is correctly conveyed in the shortened explanation of this text.

Think about it—King Solomon did not simply wake up to a room full of money!

Nope, he had to go create it! (ex. Solomon created revenue generating endeavors such as international trade and merchant ships).

I believe every reader can apply Solomon’s strategy to your own kingdom business by doing the following …….

1. Tapping into the wisdom on God

2. Using wisdom to make business decisions

3. Using wisdom to create the exact products/services that your industry needs, that will also generate wealth for you and your family

Although often easier said than done,

I’m going to wrap up by leaving you with a verse for you that I’m particularly fond of, and also implement in my own life

James 1:5, NIV: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.."

Alrighty—that’s about all for now!
